Bandra-Gorakhpur Special: Extra Trips for Diwali & Chhath
Western Railway adds extra trips for Bandra Terminus-Gorakhpur special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja 2026. Check the new schedule here.

To accommodate the massive surge in passenger demand during the festive season, Western Railway has announced additional trips for the Bandra Terminus–Gorakhpur Special train services. These extra runs are specifically designed to help commuters travel between Mumbai and North India during the Diwali and Chhath Puja celebrations.
New Schedule for Festive Special Trains
The railway authorities have extended the operational schedule for both the onward and return journeys to ensure better connectivity. The additional trips for the special services are scheduled as follows:
- Train No. 09083 (Bandra Terminus to Gorakhpur Special): This service will operate additional trips on November 1 and November 8, 2026. This train typically departs every Sunday.
- Train No. 09084 (Gorakhpur to Bandra Terminus Special): The return leg will run additional trips on November 2 and November 9, 2026. This service typically departs every Monday.
Important Unreserved Travel Information
Passengers should be aware that these additional services are designated as fully unreserved special trains. Unlike regular scheduled services where passengers can book specific berths in advance, these trips will not have pre-allocated reserved seats. Travelers must adhere to the standard unreserved ticketing rules applicable to such special services.
Fare Structure and Booking Advice
These festive services are being operated under the 'Train on Special Fare' (TOSF) framework. Consequently, passengers will be subject to special fares, which include surcharges ranging from 10% to 30% over the regular rates.
While the initial phase of bookings for these festival specials opened on September 28, 2026, passengers are strongly encouraged to verify the most recent departure timings and seat availability through the official IRCTC website or other Indian Railways channels before planning their journey to the station.
