Railway Ministry explores feasibility for Dehradun Defence Colony ROB construction

Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed that a feasibility study is currently underway for the construction of a Railway Over Bridge at the level crossing located at KM-01 on the Defence Colony motor road in Dehradun. The proposal was formally submitted by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to address increasing traffic demands and improve convenience for local residents. Minister Vaishnaw assured that once the feasibility assessment is concluded, the Railway Ministry will initiate further necessary actions.

Broader Railway Infrastructure Updates

In related railway infrastructure developments across the country, the Samastipur Railway Division has designated 37 ROB projects as Special Railway Projects, under which the railways will independently handle land acquisition to accelerate project timelines. Additionally, at the Saraiya railway crossing in Unnao, all girders for the new ROB have been successfully installed, with traffic operations expected to commence by next month.
