Indian Railways has announced a comprehensive schedule of special train services to accommodate the significant surge in passenger traffic expected during the Raksha Bandhan festival. According to Sanjay Kumar Gautam, Public Relations Officer for the Agra Rail Division, these services are designed to enhance connectivity across key routes, including those connecting Delhi, Jhansi, Khajuraho, Mathura, Dholpur, Morene, and Gwalior. Travellers can expect better convenience with various class options ranging from General and Sleeper to Chair Car and AC Chair Car, and officials strongly advise passengers to verify specific schedules and class availability before beginning their journey.

Agra Cantt and Regional Special Trains

A central focus of the initiative involves three pairs of special trains passing through Agra Cantt. This includes Train No. 01901 and 01902 between Jhansi and Hazrat Nizamuddin, operating on August 27 and 28. Furthermore, Train No. 01903 from Veerangana Laxmibai Jhansi to Hazrat Nizamuddin will run from August 26 to August 30, while its counterpart Train No. 01904 will run from August 27 to August 31. Additionally, Train No. 01913 from Khajuraho to Hazrat Nizamuddin is scheduled for August 27, and Train No. 01914 will operate from August 27 to August 31.

Further services address broader regional demand to ensure nobody is left stranded during the festive season. The unreserved Sogaria-Mathura Special numbered 02921 and 02922 will run between August 24 and August 30, serving major stations including Sawai Madhopur Junction, Gangapur City, and Bharatpur Junction. Other notable services include the Jabalpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Special via Train 01701 on August 29 and Train 01702 on August 30, alongside the Kota to Hazrat Nizamuddin Special numbered 09803 and 09804, which is scheduled for August 22, 24, and 26.

Subedarganj and Additional Unreserved Services

To manage the heavy commuter rush, Subedarganj-Shakur Basti services will feature Train 02275 running on August 25, 28, and 30, and Train 02276 operating on August 26, 29, and 31. These will be accompanied by specific runs for trains 04147, 04163, 04148, and 04164 between August 26 and August 28.

Additional unreserved special services have also been planned to ease local transit. These include the Tilak Bridge-Muzaffarnagar route via trains 04402 and 04401, the Panipat-Delhi Junction-Ambala Cantt route via trains 04404 and 04403, the Ambala Cantt-Panipat service via Train 04406, and the Shamli-Delhi Shahdara route. All of these dedicated unreserved special services will operate on August 27 and 28 to support festival travellers.
